Network Engineer (Finance)

Ahead Group is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join a fast-paced, dynamic team supporting the electronic trading network infrastructure of an international investment bank.Key Responsibilities:Ensure the reliability, stability, and optimal performance of the electronic trading network infrastructure to support business-critical operations.Deliver and execute infrastructure-related projects, from design and implementation to testing and documentation, ensuring timely and efficient completion.Conduct hands-on operations, including troubleshooting and resolution of network incidents, proactive performance monitoring, and capacity planning.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and enhancements to the network, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, standard operating procedures, and runbooks.Required Skills:Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).Proven experience providing production support within high-availability environments, preferably in financial services or trading environments.Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex network issues under pressure and providing rapid resolution.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify trends and proactively address potential issues.Desired Skills:Practical experience with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform) to streamline operations and reduce manual tasks.Familiarity with electronic trading systems and understanding of low-latency and multicast networking technologies.Experience with monitoring tools and network performance analysis.Exposure to cloud networking concepts and hybrid network solutions.
