This includes fundraising from capital markets, investments, foreign exchange, and financial risk management. These efforts are vital to maintaining the New Development Bank’s (NDB) credit rating and ensuring a steady funding pipeline for its programs.
This role is within the Portfolio Management Division, which manages the NDB’s treasury portfolio with the goals of preserving capital, ensuring access to liquidity, and generating income while minimising balance sheet risks through hedging. The team does cash flow planning, monitors financial risks, executes short- and long-term investments, conducts hedging transactions, and participates in report writing. The incumbent will provide analytical reporting to monitor investment exposure and assist across TPMD functions. Specific responsibilities include but not limited to: Calculate risk limit utilization and identify emerging risks.
Forecast and monitor cash flows, liquidity requirements, liquidity ratios, and risk limit utilization. Monitor investment counterparties, industry trends, and related risks. Identify and implement process improvements for analysis and reporting and apply programming skills in creating new and automating existing management information reports. Draft detailed reports with quantitative and qualitative insights. Prepare analytical reports on portfolio positions and investment activity. Contribute to the development of team economic and investment views. Support the design, testing and implementation of the treasury management system, straight-through-processing, and control environment. Identify opportunities to streamline existing practices.
Collaborate with lending, risk, settlements, and other departments at NDB. Assist in design and maintenance of related guidelines. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Position Requirements Nationality: Candidates must be nationals of NDB member countries. Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant professional field from a reputed university. Experience: Minimum one year of relevant full-time professional experience preferred. Candidates with less than one-year, and fresh graduates meeting the educational requirements, may be considered. Technical knowledge: Understanding of vanilla interest rate and foreign exchange products. Knowledge of cashflow and asset liability management principles. Familiarity with banking operations:
loans, deposits, general ledger, financial risk management, and investment processes. Technical skills: Advanced Excel (including VBA) and Python programming skills required. Working knowledge of SQL, R, Bloomberg, and/or PowerBI is a strong advantage. Competencies: High accuracy in quantitative skills. Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Resilient, highly driven, and goal orientated. Fluent in English (reading, writing and listening). Strong analytical skills. Agile, eager to learn, innovative, and ready to challenge the status quo with new ideas. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, collaborative environment.
