This is a full-time permanent role based in our Wellington Customhouse and reports to the Manager Workplace Technology and Platforms. The Product Manager - Infrastructure is accountable for supporting, maintaining and enhancing compute platforms for critical services, and our workplace technologies.
In this role, you will collaborate with Digital and Technology Product Managers and the business to ensure the technology in their portfolio meets the organisations requirements. Key Responsibilities In This Role Include…Leading and running our workplace and infrastructure technologies. Engaging with stakeholders to understand strategy, context, and requirements. Engaging with and managing external suppliers and contractors that deliver the services within their product portfolio, ensuring they deliver to the commercial agreements. Developing product roadmaps and leading the development of business cases to invest in the products in their portfolio. Strong planning and resource management skills.
Establishing and manging project teams to delivery on requirementsManging project delivery to ensure successful delivery on time and in budget. Reporting to governance bodies and the EPMO on progress and status of initiatives. Ensuring the products in their portfolio are robust, reliable and meet their service level requirements. Manage the work backlog for their team and service providers in their portfolio. Facilitate the quarterly Digital and Technology 'big room planning' for the products in their portfolio. Lead the resolution of incidents and problems with their products as they arise.
Are part of an on call out of hours Incident Management roster to lead incident response across all Digital and Technology products. This role currently has three direct reports as well as overseeing several managed service providers and their resources. These services cover our Workplace environment, physical infrastructure environment, network, telecommunications and mobile phone. To be successful as the Product Manager (Infrastructure), the appointee requires the following knowledge, experience, skills and personal attributes: Demonstrable skills of achieving results with and through people.
Evidenced strength in translating organisational priorities into goals, strategies and plans in the area of responsibility to ensure achievement of results. People leadership experience in people management, including demonstrated capability to manage employment issues and promote change in challenging environments utilising relationship and problem-solving skills. Strong problem solving and decision-making capability, including the ability to identify problems, manage or mitigate risks and implement innovative solutions that take immediate and longer-term consequences into account. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, using communication techniques to ensure clarity of message and achieve the desired result.
This includes the ability to speak in public and achieve buy-in from external stakeholders. Financially literate and savvy. Evidence of developing and maintaining working relationships, networks and partnerships with key stakeholders in other government agencies and industry. Can be on-call for out of hour's support and incident management activities on a rostered basis. IT background in business case development and proven programme implementation experience, and strategy development. Are part of an on call out of hours Incident Management roster to lead incident response across all Digital and Technology products.
