Job SummaryNewberry Group seeks a NOC Technician with the ability to support our end customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) within their Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) NOC at (Scott AFB, IL or Hill AFB, UT). Due to contract requirements, US Citizenship is required along with a current clearance. Location Scott AFB, IL or Hill AFB, UTPrimary Responsibilities: Responsible for performing, training team and developing processes for the following duties:
Execute network operations to include configuration and analysis of customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructurePerform real-time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actionsWork directly with supported customers and engineers across other NOCs to ensure maximum network availability to minimize or eliminate mission and operational impactProactively monitor network alarms across platform specific network management toolsPerform a variety of change management tasks which include hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI managementUtilize incident management applications to document all aspects of reported outages/degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions during the lifecycle of a service impacting network incident.
Assess, identify and recommend resolutions to various network incidents and/or deficiencies leveraging knowledge in one or more of following: routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, out-of-band managementBasic Qualifications: Must have DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) at start dateAbility to work in a 24/7 operationHigh school diploma and 3-5 years of experienceMust have an active DoD Secret security clearanceExperience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance managementExpertise in one or more of the following:
routers, switches, routing protocols, CISCO, Juniper, MPLSGeneral understanding of network topologiesTech control facility or cyber transport experienceCircuit actions and vendor experience IP architecture experienceTelco NOC, inside or outside plant experienceExperience with MS Office suite, i. e.
