RedAnts ( 红蚂蚁) is a Chinese online media platform focusing on viral topics of current affairs that are of interest to the Chinese community in Singapore. We are looking for suitable candidates to join our team as a News & Current Affairs Video Producer. You will be required to:Pitch, research, and produce video content related to viral news & current affairs, with special focus on topics that resonate with the Chinese community in SingaporeScript, shoot, and edit mobile-first videos optimized for RedAnts’ social platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, WeChat)Develop engaging formats such as street interviews, explainer videos, mini-documentaries / features, etcManage and execute the pre and post-production of videos which include researching for suitable visual and sound content, filming on location, editing videos, creating graphics for web and mobile video content, as well as archiving footagesGenerate and adapt visual content for different social media platforms and experiment with new formats (e.g., interactive polls, meme-style edits) to boost engagementManage all video assetsCoordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders, if necessaryRequirementsDiploma/degree holders with 3-4 years of experience in journalism and/or film/video production; Intermediate or advanced videography, video editing and motion graphic skills would be advantageousKeen interest in news and current affairs, including events in China and other Mandarin-speaking regionsEffectively bilingual in Chinese and English as this role supports a Chinese online platformDeep understanding of Singapore Chinese community’s interests, pain points and cultureStrong research skills and basic understanding of social media analytics, to gather information, analyse data, and identify key angles for storiesProficient in mobile filming and editing apps. Ability to create thumb-stopping visuals/text overlaysCompetency in Adobe Creative Suite - Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, illustrator etc.Analytical thinker with effective problem-solving skillsAble to adapt quickly to different and fast-paced work environments Able to work independently and as a team player Able to work irregular hours and within tight time constraints
