Thanks to our diversity of skills, talents and cultures, our customers (governments, institutions, space agencies, telecommunications operators), therefore have Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate.We are looking for a Non Destructive Testing inspector qualified minimum Level 2 as per: ISO 9712, ASNT or EN 4179/NAS 410.His/her technical and industrial experience, shall ensure:Inspection operations of the parts using fixed and/or mobile systemsInspection of flight hardware and parts, bonding, sandwich panels, welds, as well inspections of specimens and parts for development and researchConducting inspection tests through the use of test proceduresPreparation of test reporting documents (mostly in English)Being able to explain and justify the inspection results, interfaces with Quality, Engineering and support themTechnological support to Technicians for the development of Integration & Test programs and resourcesAbility to suggest improvements to machinery and inspection processesAbility to identifying and defining the best inspection methods to apply to new productsDeveloping new standard references to inspect flight hardware, different from the initial oneReaching day-to-day objectives and delivering resultsOperational and technical interface towards internal workshops and QualityKeeps updated on NDT processes through self-training or internal training in order to maintain qualifications and develop themParticipation in specific training courses and exams to achieve operational qualificationsEnglish level required:Able to read, write and speak sufficiently to compile documentation, issuing reports and work instructions, interpret standards and interface with customers and suppliers.Some of following skills are preferred:Qualifications and/or experience in Non-Destructive Testing, in particular in liquid penetrant, radiography, digital radiography, ultrasound and visual methods.Experience in Quality Control.Knowledge of the main welding processes, manufacturing of Al/Al, Al/CFRP composite panels, cold and hot forming and the main mechanical manufacturing processes.The knowledge and ability to apply and interpret codes, regulations, reference standards and parts acceptance criteria.Knowledge of technical drawing.Knowledge of normal office IT tools (Office) such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).Place of work:Turin (Italy)Availability to medium-short trips (some days or weeks) in Italy, Europe and overseas(USA mainly) is mandatoryOther characteristics:Availability to occasionally work 3 shiftsPredisposition to team work, also beyond own specific perimeter and formal rolesUsed to work by objectivesQuality-oriented mindsetStretched towards continuous technological growth and improvementAt Thales Alenia Space we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
