Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the development and maintenance of the university’s network, virtual environment, and wireless infrastructure.

Knowledge of the virtual environment management principles. Knowledge of wireless control systems. Skill in decision-making and problem solving. Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public. Skill in oral and written communication. SUPERVISORY CONTROLSThe IT Infrastructure Director assigns work in terms of very general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results. GUIDELINESGuidelines include security practices and cable standards. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORKThe work consists of varied duties in the administration of the university’s network and server systems. The need to coordinate activities across university departments and sections contributes to the complexity of the position. The purpose of this position is to administer university network systems. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of a wide variety of university functions. CONTACTSContacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, vendors, contractors, and members of the general public.
Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, to resolve problems, to motivate or influence persons, or to provide services. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects and climbs ladders. The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITYNoneMinimum QualificationsKnowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Preferred QualificationsCCNA, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ACSAAnnual salary $50,976. 00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
