About the role: We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Assistant Project Manager to help deliver renewable energy projects across New Zealand in Whangarei and Kaipara regions. As part of our Future Energy Renewables team, you’ll be supporting leading the construction side of our solar and hydro rehabilitation project. This is a key role where you’ll be making sure everything runs smoothly on site, managing timelines, budgets, and contractors.
You’ll also be working closely with the Senior Engineers and Project Managers to keep things moving and make sure everything’s built safely and to a high standard. You’ll be involved in early planning right through to delivery, and you won’t mind rolling your sleeves up when needed. If you like a good challenge, solving problems and seeing things through. This role is Fixed Term to April 2026, but is the kind of role where you can really make a mark with potential to extend. About you:
You’re an experienced project manager who knows how to get construction jobs done right, safely, on time and on budget. You’ve worked on big builds before, ideally in energy or infrastructure, and you’re confident managing multiple workstreams at once. Solid experience running in project management for construction projects, preferably in the energy or infrastructure space. Great communication and coordination skills – you keep people in the loop. A real focus on safety and doing things properly. A good handle on budgets, forecasting and reporting.
Proficiency with project tools like Microsoft Project and Procore You’ve got a calm head, you’re organised, and you know how to build good working relationships with everyone on the job – from contractors on site to engineers in the office. What’s in it for you? Competitive remuneration. An in-house well-being programme, a peer support network (Kaitiaki) and EAP services. Life Insurance and group discounted medical insurance. Commitment to professional growth and development. A friendly workplace where people are valued and appreciated. Family-friendly events and discounted gym membership along with various retail discounts. About us:
