Position SummaryR&D Brewing is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales team and drive growth across all trade channels.

This position will play a critical role in developing and executing strategic sales plans, managing distributor relationships, and expanding our presence in key and chain accounts. The Director of Sales will also collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and leadership to ensure alignment with company goals and brand priorities. Key ResponsibilitiesDistributor Management: Lead and maintain strong, productive relationships with distributor partners across all markets. Guide annual business planning (ABP) with distributors, including volume forecasting, programming, incentives, and execution goals. Conduct regular market visits and business reviews with distributor leadership and sales reps.

Sales Strategy & ExecutionDevelop and execute annual and long-term sales strategies aligned with R&D Brewing’s growth objectives. Lead the sales team with a focus on accountability, goal-setting, coaching, and performance tracking. Establish KPIs and monitor execution in both on- and off-premise accounts. Key Accounts & Chain SalesDrive growth in key regional and national accounts, including convenience, grocery, and club channels. Lead direct relationships with chain buyers and category managers. Collaborate with distributor chain teams to build and execute programs that drive incremental volume and brand awareness.

Venue & Partnership ManagementOversee team beer partnership management with venues, ensuring brand visibility, activation support, and strong partner relationships across key marketsManage collegiate sports team partnerships in coordination with venue accounts, maximizing brand alignment, activations, and fan engagement opportunitiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentManage and mentor the sales team across all markets, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability. Support recruiting, onboarding, and training efforts for new sales hires. Provide clear direction, tools, and support for success in the field. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with marketing on trade programs, POS development, and campaign execution.

Partner with operations and production to align sales forecasts with supply planning. Contribute to innovation planning and new product launches with data-informed insights. Qualifications5+ years of sales experience in the beverage industry, with 2+ years in a leadership role. Deep knowledge of the 3-tier system and proven success managing distributor networks. Strong relationships in both on- and off-premise channels, including chains. Demonstrated ability to lead sales planning, forecasting, and trade execution. Passion for craft beer and a deep understanding of the competitive landscape. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Willingness to travel (50%) across markets as needed.
