Where you'll be workingShellharbour Hospital is a 197 bed, acute facility providing a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

The inpatient services include aged care, medical, surgical, mental health and acute medical assessment inpatient beds, plus a day surgery unit. The hospital also provides emergency services, elective surgical services, general medical, antenatal and primary family health care, satellite renal dialysis, as well as adolescent and adult mental health services. Construction is underway for the development of the new Shellharbour Hospital. Shellharbour is located on the picturesque South Coast of NSW, located over an hour’s drive south of Sydney, and has a rapidly growing population.

Learn more about the lifestyle benefits of living and working in Shellharbour. What You'll Be DoingProviding a high standard of clinical care to General Medicine inpatients and outpatients. The position supports pre-requisites for future training positions with the Royal Australian College of Physicians and would be suited to a trainee wishing to undertake Basic Physician Training. Trainees in this role will be working alongside Basic Physician Trainees and will be included in the local education program.

MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaDemonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment using excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertiseGood time management and organisational skills, and advanced computing skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teamsEvidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-educationDemonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk managementMinimum of 3 years' experience as a medical officerNeed more information?
