Where you'll be workingCome for the LifestyleWollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.

Wollongong is located an hour’s drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west. What You'll Be DoingTo provide safe and high quality clinical care, under supervision, to adult and paediatric Orthopaedic patients. The successful applicants will have a minimum of three years post graduate experience and a particular interest in Orthopaedic surgery.

The Trainee will gain experience and teaching from 14 attending Orthopaedic surgeons and three SET trainees, and will become proficient in the management of emergency and non-emergency Orthopaedic presentations in one of the busiest Orthopaedic departments in NSW. Applicants will be exposed to a wide variety of elective adult orthopaedics and trauma. The position supports pre-requisites for future training positions with the Royal College of Surgeons.
