Job Description

Main purpose of the role: Thai Union Nutrition Guidelines (TUNG): Develop TUNG, drive and facilitate its deployment, propel and influence product innovation and renovation while ensuring regulatory compliance, in collaboration with the Human Food and Ambient Branded R&D teams. Update and oversee progress, providing a half-yearly progress report at the Group levelBest-in-class Nutrition: Lead and collaborate on R&D efforts in Health and Nutrition to support business innovation priorities. Drive and facilitate the deployment of the Health and Nutrition strategy and related initiatives. Lead and provide guidance on scientific literature reviews and nutrition science landscape, interpret and translate complex scientific information into clear and concise language to identify business opportunities (e.g., ingredient technology), and apply acquired knowledge to support brand communications/ promotional materials for existing and new products. Supervise and oversee progress, providing guidance on nutrition science-related work to strengthen nutrition support and align with business innovation prioritiesPeople: Motivate, guide, and coach indirect reports in setting clear performance expectations and taking actions to achieve them. Build and maintain strong relationships with team members, other functions, strategic partners, and customers. Work collaboratively with others to achieve group and organizational goals. Proactively keep stakeholders informed of relevant business information, progress, and issuesKey accountabilities:Thai Union Nutrition GuidelinesDrive the nutrition transformation journey through TUNG across the Thai Union Group to achieve the 2030 SeaChange strategy commitment on Health and Nutrition.Implement monitoring systems to track TUNG’s progress to ensure product compliance and drive product portfolio transformation.Propel and influence product innovation and renovation for all Ambient Branded products and the agreed-upon expanded product categories.Stay up to date on new or emerging international recommendations related to nutrients of public health concern to align effectively with health promotion efforts.Update and oversee progress on TUNG compliance, providing a half-yearly progress report at the Group level.Best-in-class NutritionServe as nutrition science expert, collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage nutrition related support for responsible innovation projects. Ensure product compliance with nutrition labeling regulations in partnership with the regulatory team.Coordinate and contribute to research initiatives of in vivo/ clinical studies addressing the anticipated business needs.Monitor and analyze the performance of nutritional initiatives and products, able to provide strategic recommendations as appropriate.Stay current with nutrition research and trends, translate nutrition insights as key inputs for product development and marketing.Interpret scientific evidence to identify opportunities and able to craft clear, credible nutritional messages for consumers and customers claims and communication.Align project priorities with business needs, plan/manage properly nutrition science tasks, and provide needed supports in timely manner.People and leadershipHelp motivate, guide, and coach indirect reports in setting clear performance expectations and taking actions to achieve goalsMentor junior nutritionists, oversee their works, and foster professional development.Build cross-departmental relationships, uphold company values, and engage stakeholders to identify mutual opportunities.Be a role model on Thai Union’s 6 values and actively promotes and embed the “One Thai Union” ethosBuild a cohesive and collaborative Nutrition team; with a positive working culture to attract, develop, and retain talentFoster a culture of inclusive diversity and continuous improvement to enhance employee skills and competenciesKPI’s:% on time in full (quality of the expected deliverables) execution of Nutrition Support (e.g., on-time execution of nutrient assessments)On time completion and update of Nutrition dashboardCandidate DescriptionPersonal Competencies:Strong knowledge and understanding of nutrition science, health sciences, or a related field.Highly adaptable with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building productive relationships and networks with diverse cultural and technical groups.Strong attention to details with result- and service-oriented mindset to provide nutrition support across Group Innovation, Business, and BU R&D.Ability to leverage nutrition science to identify new business or innovation opportunities and implement strategies that drive positive business outcomes.Strong scientific thinking and analytical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Thai and English, effectively conveying complex scientific information to team members, internal, and external stakeholders.Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and drive cross-functional teamwork.
