Job DescriptionPart time (45 hours biweekly)Monday - Friday Varied Day/Evening Shifts1 Saturday per month and 1 holiday per yearSign-on Bonus Eligible Continuing Education Units (CEUs) fully covered to support your professional growth General SummaryProvides occupational therapy services at an intermediate to advanced skills level to individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy. Directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance; facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity.ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities:Evaluates patient using evidence based evaluation techniques.Plans individualized occupational therapy program with a variety of sensorimotor, educational, recreational and social activities based on the individual’s physical capacity, intelligence level, and interests/goals.Provides instructions in therapeutic procedures to be continued by the patient.Coordinates occupational therapy activities in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate achievement of goals established.Conducts or participates in training medical and nursing personnel in occupational therapy techniques and objectives.Utilizes safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts and positioning.Provides supervision of COTAs and Rehab Aides as required by PA practice act.Participates in mentoring of fellow staff and students as defined by clinical ladder.Performs additional administrative duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, orientation, competency training, participation in peer/performance reviews and in-services.Assists leadership team in program development and performance improvement.Common ExpectationsDemonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age specific data and provides appropriate, age specific treatment. Provides direct patient care to assigned patient age group(s).Maintains patient record, as required by profession, with accurate documentation to support medical necessity and functional abilities.Ensures the process design of established policies/procedures, objectives, quality management, safety, environment and infection control standards are utilized consistently.Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.Acts as a role model in Red Rules compliance with a focus on hand hygiene and patient identifiers.Collaborates with other team members to create a culture of patient centeredness and clinical excellence.Utilizes SBAR as a standard method of communication in all aspects of patient care.Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Minimum EducationBachelors Degree RequiredWork Experience2 years Relevant experience.
