Job Description

Millennium is hiring an OCONUS Project Architect to work full time on site in Lagos, Nigeria. ALL candidates MUST have an active secret clearance to qualify for consideration.The position functions as the project architect, providing OBO a full range of critical architectural and construction quality assurance and management and technical oversight of oversight of New Embassy Campus and Major Rehabilitation projects. The Architect is responsible for performing technical inspections, monitoring the contractor's quality control program, and reviewing project drawings and specifications to ensure compliance.Responsibilities:Ensuring that the contractor is performing the required contract work in accordance with the design documents.Must be able to read design/construction drawings and be able to understand design narratives and calculations.Review engineering shop drawings and determine if the contractor has complied with the final design parameters.Observing onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.Performing quality assurance tasks, ensuring contractor's work is properly inspected and corrective actions take place, ensuring materials meet contract, reviewing contractor submittals for compliance with contract requirements, and resolving conflicts.Monitoring the construction contractor’s quality assurance and safety program.Monitoring construction progress and submit weekly progress reports with recommendations based on the technical review of project documents and field inspections.Performing technical inspections of the architectural elements of the project.Reviewing shop drawings and submittals from the contractor and determine if coordination with other disciplines are necessary in addition to monitoring on-going construction work to identify problems or non-compliance with design or contract specifications.Preparing construction reports detailing construction progress and identifying any problem with the construction process.Other duties as assigned by the Project Director.Qualifications:Engineering, architecture, or construction management degree from an accredited university in the United States.ALL candidates MUST hold an active secret clearance to qualify for considerationA Professional Engineering License (PE) is acceptable in lieu of a degree. Overseas experience is preferred.Minimum of 7 years’ experience required on construction projects of similar scope and dollar value.Must have an active Secret clearance before deploying.Knowledge of International Codes required.Must have experience in assessing and responding to Requests for Information (RFI).Knowledge of Construction Safety regulations, i.e. EM 385-1-1, OSHA, etc.Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.Benefits Offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Training and Tuition Assistance, Paid Time Off, and Holidays
