Position OverviewThe corporation is seeking an experienced Director of Special Foundations to lead its Valais agency. In this strategic role, you will drive business development, ensure flawless project delivery, and foster local leadership. Reporting to the Regional Managing Director, you will work closely with acquisition, engineering, and production teams to achieve ambitious growth and quality targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Client Engagement: Identify new market opportunities in Valais and cultivate relationships with public authorities, private clients, and industry partners. Lead full tender cycles: requirements analysis, technical solution design, cost estimating, and contract negotiation. Project Leadership & Delivery: Oversee all phases of special-foundations projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, safety, and quality standards. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. Act as the principal technical and contractual liaison for clients and stakeholders. Strategic Management & Reporting: Contribute to agency budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews. Champion best practices in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Support recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of local staff. QualificationsMaster’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in special foundations or deep-foundation works, including significant project-management and client-facing responsibilities. Proven success in business development and bid leadership. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and team-leadership skills. Fluency in French and English (German is a plus). Strong understanding of the Valais construction market and established local network. Resident in Valais or willing to relocate.
