Pymble, New South WalesFull-timeDescriptionOpen Space Asset OfficerSalary $94,406.52 to $109,512.00 p/a + super Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week Access to private use of a vehicle through Council’s Private Leaseback SchemeAbout Ku-ring-gai CouncilKu-ring-gai is one of Sydney’s most beautiful and environmentally rich areas, located just 16km north of the CBD.With a mix of vibrant town centres, leafy residential areas, heritage precincts, and natural bushland, we are a local government area committed to balancing growth with sustainability, character, and community values.About The RoleIn this role, you will support the Coordinator Open Space, Recreation and Building Assets in managing Council’s diverse portfolio of open space and recreational facilities. From maintaining our asset management systems to planning for future upgrades and overseeing project delivery, you will play a vital role in keeping Ku-ring-gai’s parks, playgrounds and community spaces safe, sustainable and enjoyed by all.Your Duties Will Include, But Are Not Limited ToMaintain and update Council’s asset management systems, including data collection, input, condition assessment, and reportingDevelop and implement long-term asset management and maintenance plans that reflect whole-of-life principles and financial forecastingCoordinate programmed inspections for open space and recreation assets, ensuring timely completion and complianceProvide financial input for budget reviews, reporting, and capital works cost estimatesAssist in developing Council’s 10-year capital works and asset management programs for recreational facilitiesRespond to customer requests professionally and efficiently, conducting investigations and inspections as requiredAssist with the preparation of tenders, quotes, and technical documentationSupervise contractors and ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality standardsQualifications, Skills & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Asset Management, Business, Recreation, Facility Management, Landscape Architecture or a related field; or suitable trade qualifications with relevant experienceCurrent Class C driver’s licence and White Card (General Construction Induction)Demonstrated experience managing Council infrastructure assets, including inspections, condition assessments, and asset reportingStrong understanding of asset management principles, lifecycle management, and capital works programmingExperience in open space construction and contractor supervisionSound financial and project management skills, including cost estimation, budgeting, and reportingExcellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and teamwork skillsBenefits35 hour working weekWork from Home (WFH) options / Flexible Working ArrangementsAccess to private use of a vehicle through Council’s Private Leaseback SchemeAccess to Fitness PassportHealth & Fitness $100 yearly reimbursement (conditional)Free confidential Employee Assistance ProgramBeautiful Ku-ring-gai LocationSupportive team environmentAccess to a wide range of development and training opportunitiesFor more information on the benefits offered at Ku-ring-gai Council, please refer to our website click here.How To ApplyApplicants are required to address all Essential Criteria as listed within the Position Description to be eligible for an interview.Like to know more?
