Job Title: Operating Partner – Portfolio OperationsLocation: Remote — Preference for candidates located in the Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, or Houston metro areasTravel: ~25% to portfolio company sites and firm officesCompensation: Competitive base salary + performance bonus + equity participationAbout the FirmOur client is an operationally focused private equity firm currently managing 6 portfolio companies, with a growth plan to expand to 8–12 companies over the next 18–24 months. The firm emphasizes hands-on partnership, scalable operating models, and measurable value creation.With one existing Operating Partner overseeing the portfolio, the firm is adding a second Operating Partner to enable deeper support, leadership specialization, and readiness for continued portfolio expansion.Position OverviewThe Operating Partner will serve as a strategic and execution-oriented leader, supporting management teams across multiple portfolio companies. This executive will partner closely with CEOs, CFOs, and the investment team to drive operational improvements, margin expansion, and commercial acceleration.The ideal candidate is a proven operator with direct experience working inside PE-backed companies, leading value-creation initiatives, and delivering measurable EBITDA improvements. This role is designed for an individual who thrives in dynamic environments, balances strategy with hands-on execution, and enjoys coaching leadership teams to outperform.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive Value Creation Plans: Implement initiatives focused on revenue growth, operational efficiency, pricing, and working capital improvementSupport M&A Integration: Provide leadership across integration workstreams and ensure synergy capture when add-on acquisitions occurOperational Diagnostics: Identify bottlenecks and implement best practices in process, systems, and accountability frameworksPerformance Management: Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting rigor to support weekly and monthly operating reviewsLeadership Collaboration: Partner intentionally with CEOs and CFOs to prioritize execution and elevate organizational performanceCross-Portfolio Optimization: Lead initiatives in areas such as labor optimization, procurement, and business systemsBoard & Investor Communication: Present progress updates and execution risks with transparency and clarityTalent Development: Evaluate organizational capability and support leadership upgrades when neededQualifications12–20 years of operational leadership experience (GM, COO, Division President, or functional operational executive)Strong track record of success inside PE-backed environmentsDemonstrated ability to drive performance improvement and measurable EBITDA gainsExperience with M&A integration, operational turnaround, or transformation programsComfortable working with incomplete information and creating clarity and structureBachelor’s degree required; MBA preferredWhy JoinThis is a high-impact opportunity to influence and elevate performance across a growing platform — at a stage of healthy scale and continued expansion.You will:Work directly with CEOs and investorsHelp shape the future playbook for the firmTake on broader portfolio responsibilities as the firm continues to growThis is the right role for a leader who loves to build, thrives in execution, and wants to be part of a growing value-creation team from the ground up.
