This position is also responsible for providing leadership to department managers throughout the manufacturing area.Position Type: ExemptMajor Tasks, Responsibilities & Key AccountabilitiesPlan, monitor and control spendingAssist New Product/Projects Manager in studying the feasibility of new projectsPlan and maintain time scheduleAllocate priorities to tasks and reschedule work or tasks as neededMonitor and report progressManage all manufacturing areasImplement any necessary training programs for department managersEstablish and discipline within each team to follow standards to build productsPromote safety awareness, quality culture and customer focusEnsure that Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques are utilized to improve operations.Promote using Problem Solving Tools and Techniques in an effort to assist Manufacturing in the elimination of defects and inventory areasOther duties as assigned Minimum QualificationsMust pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.Bachelor’s degreeFifteen to twenty years of manufacturing experience with some knowledge of each departmentSeven to ten years of experience in a supervisory/department manager rolePreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree or MBA with a manufacturing emphasisFifteen to twenty years of manufacturing experience with some knowledge of each department in a related industryTen years of experience in a supervisory/department manager roleKnowledge, Skills, Abilities & CompetenciesExperience with world-class organizations or Tier One SuppliersAbility to develop and implement strategiesConversant in quality processes driven toward achieving goalsAdept in matrix, multi-cultural organizationSolid analytical skills with a practical balance of shop floor experienceKnowledge of manufacturing equipment and processesHighly motivated self-starterEffective organizational and communication skillsDetail oriented and self-directedAbility to delegate workCreative problem-solving skillsMulti-task while maintaining a sense of urgencyFlexibility with work activitiesAbility to give direction well either verbal or writtenJob ConditionsBoth office environment and manufacturing/factory environmentSubject to noise and temperature changesPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
