About the roleSupervises general cargo operations on board vessels and in yard areas to achieve safest and most efficient utilization of manpower and equipment.Key AccountabilitiesCoordinates and assists the Shift Manager in supervising yard and vessel activities, including anchorage operations.Oversees, evaluates and directs performance of duty Supervisors and his subordinates engaged in daily operations.Determines and sets the schedule of required number of personnel, equipment and gears to ensure efficient terminal operations. Seeks the approval of Shift Manager prior to deployment.Assists Shift Manager in every vessel activity such as but not limited to docking and undocking of vessel.Boards the vessel and assesses actual stowage of cargo prior to start of work. Coordinates with the Shift Manager if there is a need to revise prepared work plan.Conducts toolbox talks to all Supervisors and/or gangs on duty at the start of every shift. Shall also provide toolbox talks to any personnel including third party as deemed necessary.Prepares and updates policies and procedures for efficient and safe cargo handling operations. Ensure ZODIAC System is incorporated to the vessel and delivery operation procedure.Ensures that Supervisor on duty conducts proper vessel safety inspection and thoroughly accomplishes vessel safety pack upon vessel arrival. Shall also ensure that vessel completion is accomplished and duly signed by Vessel Master or Chief Officer immediately after discharging operations is completed.Assess yard condition and coordinate with Shift Manager to ensure efficient yard utilization. Ensures that pier and equipment limitations are observed at all times.Monitors truck turn time both for vessel/yard and delivery operations.Attends and addresses client feedback within scope of authority. Elevates concerns to Shift Manager if needed.Serves shifting order/s issued by Berthing Management Office to affected vessels during adverse weather condition.Ensures that all cargoes at stacking areas are properly secured at all times.Prepares end shift report indicating the productivity and causes of delay for every vessel and other essential information that transpired within the shift. Shall include an approval portion of equipment utilized for the shift. Shall also indicate status of the rest of equipment and refers to Engineering and/or RLS as deemed necessary.Validates data of Vessel Operations Accomplishment Report at the end of every shift.Qualities, Skills and ExperienceGraduate of any four-year Business courseWith at least 4-year experience in port and terminal operationsWith good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skillsProficient in MS OfficeWilling to be assigned in shiftsPreferably with driver's licenseAbout Asian Terminals IncorporatedAsian Terminals Inc.
