The role is primarily responsible for supervising all operational matters as directed, ensuring that client requirements are met and in compliance with Client and AHK policies and procedures. Click here to find out more about AHK.DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKESTo be successful at Alfred H Knight the incumbent will need to display the following:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCEResponsibilitiesDay-to-day responsibility for the delivery of inspection services by ensuring efficient and appropriate use of resources/facilities to meet AHK’s contractual obligations and specific customer expectationsCarrying out operational duties to ensure quality and customer targets are achievedAid in developing relations with clients to enhance trust, understanding and an awareness of local market trends/developmentsIn conjunction with the Line Manager ensure all employees have the appropriate level of skills, knowledge and experience in order to provide a high-quality service to customers and to instigate training activities where required.Aid the Line Manager in the development and maintenance of a lean and accountable local team structure that encourages employees to take ownership of operational issues/opportunities at appropriate levelsWork closely with Senior Management to ensure that new business is explored and appropriate growth opportunities are maximisedAid in ensuring effective teamwork between Inspection and Laboratory teams, where relevant, to ensure an effective Quality and Quantity service is provided to the customerRequired CompetenciesEffective interpersonal skillsAble to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environmentWorking knowledge of effective people management techniquesRequired QualificationsSecond Cycle (with Maths and Science)Analytical Chemistry Diploma or other appropriate Tertiary qualificationRequired work experienceMinimum 3 years’ experience of operating in a co-ordination or supervisory role within a successful teamExperience in supporting QMS requirements in relation to ISO 17025 accreditationDesirable but not essential; experience of the metals and minerals industries, including basic chemistry knowledge and laboratory skillsRequired LanguagesHighly proficient in Portuguese (Verbal and written)Workable proficiency in English will be an added advantageBENEFITSWe are offering an excellent opportunity with a salary and benefits package to match.Alfred H Knight is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and hence welcomes applications from all sections of the community in line with equal opportunity plans.CLOSING DATE: 30 November 2025
