Job Description

The Safety and Facility Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing all safety, security, and facility-related activities within the warehouse. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining facility infrastructure, and enforcing industry standards such as TAPA. The role plays a key part in driving a strong safety culture, coordinating audits, and ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently, securely, and in accordance with all required guidelinesKey ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety (EHS)Ensure compliance with OSHA and local health and safety regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses. Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding safety inductions for all warehouse personnel. Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions. Monitor use of PPE and safe handling of equipment and materials. TAPA Compliance & Security AuditsEnsure warehouse operations and infrastructure comply with TAPA FSR (Facility Security Requirements) and other relevant standards. Prepare for and lead TAPA certification and surveillance audits. Maintain and update TAPA-compliant security measures such as CCTV systems, access controls, fencing, seals, and ... Implement and monitor corrective actions from TAPA audit findings. Collaborate with security teams to conduct regular internal TAPA audits and risk assessments. Facility OperationsOversee the maintenance and operational readiness of all building systems including HVAC, lighting, racking, loading docks, fire protection, and alarm systems. Manage preventive maintenance schedules using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Supervise external contractors, and security providers, ensuring SLAs are met. Ensure emergency response equipment and plans are up to date and tested regularly. Compliance & DocumentationMaintain documentation related to safety procedures, TAPA compliance, facility maintenance, and inspections. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., waste handling). Support internal and third-party audits (including ISO and customer audits). Team and Vendor ManagementSupervise facility staff or maintenance technicians as applicable. Schedule and supervise maintenance activities to minimize disruption to warehouse operationsCoordinate and manage external service providers, ensuring safety and performance standards are met. Monitor and manage facility-related budgets and cost-saving initiatives. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Facilities Management, Logistics, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in warehouse safety and facility operations. Working knowledge of TAPA FSR standards and experience in managing or participating in TAPA audits. OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR, or fire safety certifications are a plus. Familiarity with warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, MHE) and associated safety protocols. Experience with CMMS and MS Office Suite. Preferred SkillsStrong understanding of warehouse security best practices. Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to safety and compliance. Effective leadership and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Work EnvironmentWarehouse environment with active operationsMay require standing/walking for long periodsMust be available for emergency situations, or weekends as needed
