POSITION SUMMARYThe Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (M&E Specialist) will be responsible for collecting school leader surveys, teaching quality data, and classroom observation data from approximately 100 schools in and around Accra This will involve interviews with school proprietors, teacher mentors, teachers, occasionally parents, and classroom observation data of live lessons in classrooms.

This data allows us to analyze the quality of schools and provide targeted training with the aim of aiding an improvement in conditions for learning. RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. School Quality Data CollectionConduct yearly surveys on school quality and behavior and school leadership knowledge and practice with school proprietors to gather relevant data on school quality and assess improved school development and leadership. Conduct yearly classroom observations (COB) to assess the quality of classroom instruction, teaching concepts, and methods applied in the classroom.

Conduct interviews with school proprietors, teachers, and parents to gather relevant data on school quality. Conducts yearly surveys of EduQuality teachers and teacher mentors to assess progress. Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of the data collected in a timely manner. Occasionally support other data collection and documentation needs as requested by the implementation teamCollaborate with the M&E Management to identify trends, patterns, and areas requiring improvement in learning outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement and CollaborationCollaborate with school proprietors, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to facilitate data collection and promote engagement in improvement initiatives.

Provide occasional support to country-specific EduQuality activities—such as introductory seminars, training facilitation, or tablet setup—depending on the availability of time and resources. QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in education, social sciences, or a related fieldPrevious experience collecting data through digital surveys and observation. Highly competent users of tablets, laptop computers, and other technologyWillingness and ability to travel to collect data. This will involve independently organizing public transportation and accommodations. Experience in the education sector is strongly desirable, but not required. Strong desire to learn and improve technical and analytical skills.

Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS·      Up to 80% domestic travel required annually.
