The Head of Legal and Compliance will oversee and manage all legal and regulatory affairs across our global operations. This position is particularly vital in navigating the intricate landscape of cross-border financial regulations, cultivating and sustaining essential relationships with banking and payment partners, and ensuring comprehensive legal adherence to pertinent U. S. , EU, and UK legislation, including the dynamic regulatory framework governing fintech, cryptocurrency, and money services.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in crypto-related regulations, compliance standards, and global digital asset frameworks, ensuring the company operates at the highest standards of legal integrity across jurisdictions. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Legal Strategy & Risk ManagementRegulatory ComplianceProduct & Technology SupportCommercial & Product CounselCorporate, Commercial & Strategic TransactionsBanking and Payment Partner RelationshipsRequirements10+ years of legal experience, including 3+ years focused on crypto, fintech, blockchain, or related fields. Leading global or at least 3 macro-regions functional coverage (EU, US, UK, EMEA, APAC, LATAM). LLM, or equivalent legal qualification. Deep understanding of payments and crypto industries and regulators.
Proven experience engaging with regulators or navigating gray regulatory areas in crypto. Deep understanding of digital asset regulation across major jurisdictions (US, EU, UK, etc. ). Experience supporting product development and technology teams, particularly in hardware/software crypto security. Strong knowledge of AML/KYC, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), cybersecurity law, and token classification frameworks.
