The Outdoor Education Assistant provides support to the Outdoor Education Coordinator in planning, executing, and evaluating engaging learning experiences for students from Pre-K through High School. This role combines administrative coordination, logistical support, and active leadership in outdoor programs, ensuring that students benefit from safe, challenging, and meaningful experiential learning opportunities. The position also serves as a bridge between teachers, students, parents, and external providers, with strong bilingual communication (English/Spanish) required.School MissionInternational School Nido de Aguilas empowers learners to CONNECT authentically, EXPLORE with curiosity, and ACT with purpose.School Core ValuesSuitable candidates will demonstrate our core values of:Kindness Respect Responsibility Integrity Belonging PositivityPortrait of a Nido LearnerNido Learners are:ConnectorsThinkersInquirersDesignersChangemakersQualifications And ExperienceAt least three years of experience supporting educational programming.Experience in leading outdoor activities for young people.Excellent oral and written communication in English and Spanish.Proficient in using Google Workspace and other technology platforms.Certifications in First Aid, Outdoor Learning, and/or Wilderness Safety.High level of physical fitness.Skills, Attitudes, and DispositionsPossess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse personalities Ability to build trust and maintain healthy working relationships across the schoolStrong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate flexibility and self-directionPossess a growth-mindset, seeking and applying critical feedbackRepresent Nido with students, parents, colleagues, and broader school community in a highly professional manner, in alignment with our school valuesMain Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Support for Nido’s Outdoor Education ProgrammingManage registration, documentation, communication, and logistical coordination for on-campus, off-campus, and overseas Outdoor Education programs.Maintain updated program information, itineraries, photos, and resources on the Nido website for WWW and Outdoor Education programs in collaboration with the Outdoor Education Coordinator.Support the organization and layout of the Week Without Walls Fair and other Outdoor Education events, meetings and activitiesComplete office clerical tasks, including payment requisitions, purchase orders, and updating chaperone guidelines.Assist in ordering equipment and materials for programs, liaising with external suppliers and the Nido Business Office.Assist in preparing the annual Outdoor Education department budget proposal.Teaching and Learning Support for Nido’s Outdoor Education ProgrammingSupport the Outdoor Education Coordinator to plan, design, execute, and evaluate Outdoor Education learning experiences for all grade levels.Lead students on interactive, hands-on outdoor experiences that foster learning, leadership, challenge, reflection, and age-appropriate risk.Promote the learning goals of Nido’s Outdoor Education Program and school’s shared mission, vision and guiding statementsInternational School Nido de Aguilas is an equal opportunity employer.
