Responsibilities: Develop and maintain relationships with shipping partners and transportation providers. Negotiate competitive rates and terms with carriers to meet client needs and control costs. Coordinate and monitor shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Oversee all stages of the freight process—from booking through delivery. Stay current on transportation regulations, market conditions, and industry trends. Provide proactive and responsive customer service to resolve shipment issues quickly. Accurately document and track shipments, transactions, and communications. Requirements: 4+ years of experience in freight brokerage operations. Experience with McLeod or a related transportation management system (TMS).
Prior experience with an existing book of carrier and customer contacts. Proven ability to generate and close new business opportunities. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of transportation compliance and industry practices. Capable of working independently with strong time-management skills. Proficiency in freight management systems and digital tracking tools. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc. ).
