Our client, in the Agri-tech space is hiring for a Packhouse Divisional Manager.Summary: A natural leader with strong commercial instincts and operational discipline - to take full ownership of Adagin's Scale & Packhouse division. You'll be responsible for running, growing, and continuously improving this core business unit, ensuring world-class service delivery while expanding our market footprint.This is a hands-on role that combines commercial growth, customer engagement, and operational excellence. You'll work closely with the CEO, senior technician, and administrative support team to ensure every installation, calibration, and customer interaction reflects Adagin's standard of "first-time right''Location: StellenboschReporting to: CEOSchedule: Monday - Friday; 08:00 - 17:00Set-up: Hybrid - 3 days office and 2 days remoteKey ResponsibilitiesDivision Leadership & GrowthTake full ownership of operational and commercial outcomes in the Scale & Packhouse divisionDrive growth in installations and expand market footprint, ensuring season-on-season increase in the number of scales soldLead and develop team members, fostering accountability and high performanceCustomer Success ManagementBuild and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customersConduct national (and occasional international) site visits to ensure optimal system performanceEnsure high customer satisfaction and retention through proactive engagement and supportSales & Commercial ActivitiesConduct product demos and engage prospective customersConvert leads into new scale installations and ensure consistent seasonal sales growthSupport pricing, quotations, and contractual negotiations as neededOperational ExcellenceOversee installations, calibrations, and support processes with "First Time Right" standards, minimising reworks or missed deadlinesPlan and manage calibration schedules, job cards, and operational workflows to prevent delays or reworksIdentify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities across installations, logistics, and after- salesMaintain and forecast for optimal stock levels to avoid critical out-of-stock events impacting deliveryCollaboration & ReportingWork closely with the senior technician and admin/accounting assistant on travel, budgets, and invoicingProvide monthly performance updates to the CEO covering sales metrics, customer feedback, stock risks, and improvement actionsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or Supply Chain ManagementMinimum 5 years' experience in operations, packhouse, or technical business management (experience in agri-tech or agriculture will be advantageous but not required)Experience in sales and customer relationship managementProven leadership and people management experienceSkillsExcellent commercial and financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, and cost management)Superb interpersonal and communication skillsOperational planning and project managementAnalytical and tech-savvy with strong proficiency in relevant digital tools and reporting systemsProcess optimisation and continuous improvement focusStrong systems thinkingAbility to integrate business, operational, and technical perspectives for effective decision-makingCompetenciesIndependent / Self-managedProactiveStrong problem-solvingStrong decision-makingCollaborativePrioritisation & time managementAdaptabilityContinuous improvement mindset About Adagin Technologies: Adagin Technologies is an award-winning AgriTech company that designs, builds, and supports smart hardware and software systems for the global fruit industry.
