Job DescriptionThis is an exciting new opportunity for a Mechatronics Engineer who will help us design, develop, and implement advanced mechatronic systems, integrating mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering principles.
You'll play a key role in supporting our sites across New Zealand, creating innovative solutions in automation and robotics. You will also contribute to new product development, commissioning of new lines, and preventative maintenance planning. Your key responsibilities will be to:
Lead and manage mechatronics projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget Oversee process line equipment's upgrade including Electrical and Automation Equipment Monitor or calibrate automated systems, or system components to maximize efficiency of production (OEE) Capable to integrate Sensors, actuators, microcontrollers and control systems to deliver reliable and high performance solutionsDevelop and execute Test plans to ensure Automation Systems meet RequirementsEnsure all mechatronics systems meet quality standards and regulatory requirementsDrive innovation in mechatronics design and development, staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies Involvement in site continuous improvement projects Contribute to rapid prototyping, product iteration and technology scale-up activities Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you’ll have:
Minimum 2+ years of Experience in Industrial Automation and system Design Engineering Strong mathematical, analytical, and creative thinking skills.   CAD skills – Capable to design simple mechanical components/ electrical schematics/ detailing PLC program modification Strong knowledge base on communication protocols but not limited to OPC-UA, Mod-Bus , profinet etc. Capable to Trouble shoot PLC/OT networks and Plant SCADA systems Knowledge in Allen Bradely, Simens, Omron systems are added advantage Ability to work in a team  Ability to work across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to develop Algorithms to automate process would be added advantageQualificationsDegree or diploma in Mechatronics Engineering or a related field. Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, robotics, and industrial sensors. Proven experience in managing mechatronics projects, with a strong background in robotics, automation, and control systems – preferrably in a manufacturing enviroment
