Painting & Coating Engineer/Incharge/Superintendent (NACE Level III) – Offshore

Job Description - Painting & Coating Engineer / Incharge / Superintendent (NACE Level III)Locations: Hazira (Gujarat) / Oman (sohar) — Final location will be project-basedIndustry: Offshore Oil & Gas (Fabrication Yard)Key Responsibilities: • Supervise painting & coating activities for offshore modules as per NACE Level III standards. • Ensure correct surface preparation (blasting, cleaning) and coating system selection for offshore service conditions. • Monitor QA/QC activities: DFT checks, adhesion tests, holiday testing, climatic condition checks. • Coordinate coating schedules with fabrication, welding & module assembly teams. • Review coating materials, ensure compliance with project specifications & international standards. • Lead troubleshooting for coating defects, rework planning & punch-list clearance with client/third-party inspectors. • Maintain inspection reports, coating logs & documentation for offshore readiness. • Ensure HSE compliance in blasting/painting areas and overall yard operations. • Train, guide & supervise blasting/spray crews for correct techniques and equipment handling. • Must have proven experience in offshore projects and fabrication yard environments. Required Skills:• NACE Level III Certification (Mandatory) • Strong knowledge of offshore coating systems, paint specifications & international standards (ISO, SSPC, NORSOK). • Expertise in surface preparation, blasting profiles & coating application methods. • Skilled in QA/QC inspection: DFT gauges, adhesion testers, holiday detectors, WFT/DFT measurement. • Ability to interpret PQRs, ITPs, WMS, TDS & MSDS for coating activities. • Knowledge of HSE practices for painting/blasting operations. • Strong coordination skills with fabrication, QC, production & client teams. • Problem-solving ability for coating failures, environmental issues & application challenges. • Proficient in documentation, reporting & maintaining coating traceability.
