About The OpportunityAs Maintenance Fitter, you will be an integral part of a team that provides practical mechanical engineering support for all our Lumber operational areas which consists of a Sawmill, Drymill & Kilns. You will be responsible for ensuring overall plant availability and reliability, scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and investigating, diagnosing and repairing any machinery breakdowns. In your role you will have a variety of plant and workshop duties and will work alongside other trades people and operators.
You will have a strong focus on plant reliability, assist with resolving all mechanical breakdowns and failures promptly to minimise production downtime and actively participate in preventative maintenance strategies. This role is a shift position working four 12-hour shifts. The roster pattern is: 2 days 6. 00am-6. 00pm, 2 nights 6. 00pm – 6. 00am, 4 days off. This role is based at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier. About UsWe add value to our natural resources. Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
Experience in diagnostics and fault-finding. Sound knowledge of engineering principles, standards and procedures. Strong work ethic with a proactive can-do attitude.
