Post secondary education in Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Conservation and Environmental Law Enforcement or a related discipline. Significant experience communicating with and educating members of the public, partners, and/or stakeholders, on information related to natural resources and park management. Asset Qualifications Experience in the back-country including navigation, safety planning, conducting backcountry patrols, or natural resource field monitoring. Experience conducting investigations in a regulatory compliance and enforcement context i.e. policing, bylaw enforcement, environmental or workplace safety compliance, or similar statutory investigative duties that involve interacting with the public. Experience managing human/wildlife conflicts to ensure public safety. Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered. Do not include a cover letter with your application. TECHNOLOGY & WRITING SKILLS – Utilize technological skill and exceptional writing skills in a professional setting for accurate communication, documentation, and report preparation. Additional InformationThis is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following conditions of employment and job requirements:Conditions Of Employment Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent. Possession and Acquisition License (PAL). Security Clearance. First Aid/CPR certificate (or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire). A declaration of any convictions under the Criminal Code of Canada for which an official pardon has not been received, as well as any convictions under the following acts: Parks and Land Certainty Act, Environment Act, Wilderness Tourism Licensing Act and Wildlife Act including convictions under similar legislation in other jurisdictions. Job Requirements Wearing and maintaining a uniform. Working outdoors in a variety of settings (including remote locations), weather and terrain conditions. Frequent travel within the territory. Evening/late night/early morning work and weekend shifts. Lifting or moving heavy objects up to 25 kilogram may be required.
