Position DetailsPosition InformationPosition Title Part-Time Academic (ENGL/CRWR 2010.03: The Personal Essay) - Winter 2026Posting Number PTAP3038PDepartment/Unit EnglishLocation Halifax, Nova Scotia, CanadaJob Summary & Key ResponsibilitiesTo teach ENGL / CRWR 2010: The Personal Essay, in the Winter term 2026. Classes will be held Tues/Thurs 1135-1255. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation, and grading the final exam. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.Qualifications/Requirements Of PositionApplicants should possess a Ph.D. in English or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program, or MA or MFA in creative writing. Previous experience teaching at the university level is required.Salary Range/Pay Rate As per CUPE Collective AgreementAdditional InformationAll applications should include a curriculum vitae, contact information for two referees willing to submit confidential letters of reference, and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
