Job Title: Part-Time Volunteer Selection SpecialistTeam: External AffairsLocation: Remote from one of our current Braven operating states: GA, IL, NY, NJEmployment Type: Temporary Part-timeStart Date: ASAPDuration: October ASAP, 2025 - February 9, 2026, with the potential to continue during the next recruitment cycle from April 2026 - August 31, 2026. Applicants specifically must be available to work 25 hours per week during the following crucial process windows to conduct volunteer interviews:October 3 - November 16, 2025November 17 - December 11, 2025Hours: 15-28 hours per week, flexible daily schedule with the majority of hours worked during regular business hours, Monday through Friday (possibly some Saturday and Sunday hours as well)About BravenBraven is a national nonprofit that prepares promising college students to secure a strong first opportunity after college graduation through a career-accelerating program.We work with higher education and employer partners to offer a life-changing experience that begins with a semester-long course for college students, followed by support that lasts through graduation.Together, our ambition is to help rebuild the middle class and revitalize the American Dream.To learn more, take a look at Braven's Jobs Report.About The RoleIn order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade,Braven is hiring a part-time Volunteer Selection Specialist to review applications, conduct interviews with candidates for volunteer roles, and make recommendations on whether to accept them as volunteers. The Volunteer Selection Specialists will play a critical role in ensuring that our volunteers have the skill sets and experience to successfully facilitate, mentor, coach, support, and build community with Fellows.This role is on the External Affairs team and reports directly to the Associate Director, Volunteer Operations.What You'll DoVolunteer Selection 80%Develop a strong understanding of Braven's Leadership Coach and Professional Mentor programs, including requirements and volunteer profilesUse Braven's Interview Guide to take notes and interview Leadership Coach volunteer applicants live remotely via Zoom or asynchronously review applicants' self-recorded video interviewsReview Professional Mentor volunteer applications using Braven's rubric and resourcesMake selection recommendations (accept, reject, waitlist, etc.) for Leadership Coaches and Professional Mentors, grounded in evidence and aligned with established rubricsUpdate Salesforce records and ensure data accuracyAdministration duties 20%Craft Leadership Coach facilitation pairing recommendation proposals for regions as neededRespond to selection recommendation-related inquiries from staffAssist Volunteer Coordinators with volunteer selection audit resolution as needed Other duties as assignedRequirementsMinimum RequirementsAt least 2 years of experience with hiring, interviewing, and/or recruitingPreferred QualificationsExceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsStrong judgment and ability to handle confidential, sensitive information with absolute discretionExperience with legal and professional interview note-takingAbility to compose strong selection recommendations aligned with rubricsFamiliarity of and comfort with CalendlyFamiliarity of and comfort with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides)Familiarity of and comfort with SalesforceFamiliarity of and comfort with Zoom virtual meetingsExemplification of Braven's core valuesExperience that has informed your belief in Braven's mission and has prepared you to work with, or for, Braven's student Fellow populationPlease know that no one ever meets 100% of the preferred qualifications.
