Ericsson Finland employs around 600 professionals and our main office is in Jorvas, Kirkkonummi.Grow with usWe are seeking a motivated PhD of Msc student trainee to support AI-driven patent analysis workflows. The trainee will develop and enhance tools for automated analysis and categorization of patents and patent related data. The work consists of a combination of developing scripts e.g. in Python and integrating with AI workflows. Part of the work is to experiment with different approaches and commercial AI workflow tools to determine feasibility of scaling. This is a hands-on role ideal for students interested in applied AI, intellectual property analytics, and data engineering.Key Responsibilities:Develop and test Python scripts and small tools for parsing, cleaning, and transforming patent documents and metadata.Assist in building and evaluating AI workflows for patent classification, search, and clustering.Help integrate open-source libraries and APIs into analysis pipelines.Prepare documentation to share findings with the team.Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot issues.Required Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a master’s or PhD  program in computer science, data science, engineering, or a related field.Python programming skills and familiarity with common libraries.Basic understanding of AI concepts and workflows.Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate results clearly.Join our TeamWhat We Offer:Mentorship from experienced team member.Practical experience deploying AI/NLP methods on real-world patent datasets.Flexible hours to accommodate academic schedules and a supportive learning environment.Why join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity.
