A Better World.Don't miss out on the opportunity to work alongside the world's best in paediatric healthcare.The Patient Care Information Coordinator, Lung Transplant Clinic and Pediatric Consultation Clinic, is a full-time, permanent clinic role. The role will be split equally in both programs and the individual will be primarily responsible for the patient scheduling processes and supporting patient flow through the clinics and program in general. You will facilitate the delivery of patient care by providing a high level of support and assistance to program staff and patient/families. You will support the operation of the team and clinic by providing clerical and administrative functions in a proactive and organized manner.Here's What You'll Get To Do Respond to requests for information from families and healthcare staff Ensure related scheduling requests are processed, organized, updated and coordinated with the team, patient and family and other departments Support clinical staff in organizing the clinics, arranging for needed supplies and resources Facilitate communication flow via telephone, paging, and computer access Maintain appointment schedules in the electronic health record and notify patients/families of any updates or changes to their appointments; reschedule appointments as necessary Collate and relay patient or scheduling information in a precise and timely manner to colleagues within and outside of the organization Greet and orient patients and their families to the clinic and the program Maintain an efficient work environment Initiate and assist in the coordination of family/patient and health care professional education sessions Communicate with inter-professional team members within and outside of the organization to coordinate the booking of visits Act as the liaison for external hospital contacts when neededHere's What You'll Need Diploma or Degree in a related field (Medical Administration, Business Administration, Health Administration) preferred Minimum of 3 years clerical or administrative experience in a health care setting. Experience in a hospital environment is preferred Scheduling experience is essential and medical terminology is an asset Accurate keyboarding skills and strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience with Epic is an asset Excellent problem solving skills that demonstrate an ability to anticipate potential issues and make suggestions Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with both fellow colleagues and patients Ability to remain focused and prioritize tasks in a busy and high stress environment Dependability and good attendance Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectivesHere's What You'll Love This position is eligible for employee benefits coverage including but not limited to; health, dental and life insurance.
