We are now looking for a new talented colleague to strengthen the People & Culture team and our following leaps in our system development field.We are now looking for aPAYROLL SYSTEMS LEADto take responsibility for the successful execution and development of our internal solutions supporting payroll systems. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with People & Culture, our outsourced payroll vendor, Finnair IT, system suppliers, and Finnair time system owners to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations.As Payroll Systems Lead, you will play a key role in developing Finnair’s end-to-end payroll processes by providing technical expertise in system development and related projects. You will be accountable for maintaining the quality of payroll data and ensuring that documentation, instructions, and end-user support for payroll processes are consistently up to date and available.Your background may be in payroll services, HR, or IT, and you are familiar with working with payroll-related data, HR master data systems, and their interfaces. You have a solid understanding of both IT solution requirements and payroll process needs. You work independently and proactively, and you approach new challenges with a structured mindset and a positive, hands-on attitude.Main ResponsibilitiesLead and execute payroll and time-related system development projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Provide technical expertise in payroll end-to-end process development and related system projects.Monitor and ensure the continuous quality and accuracy of payroll and time data.Maintain up-to-date documentation, instructions, and end-user support for payroll and time processes.Track legislative, collective agreement, and local agreement changes affecting payroll, together with other People & Culture roles.Describe and manage system change requests to payroll vendors, system providers, and AMS partners.Facilitate change projects and coordinate testing activities within the payroll systems area.Collaborate with system owners to stay informed about updates that impact payroll processes.Ensure timely and accurate data transfers from Finnair time systems and HR master data to payroll systems.Participate in interface development projects and ensure the functionality and quality of payroll-related system interfaces.Support GDPR compliance in payroll and time systems and contribute to secure data handling practices.Actively identify and promote opportunities to utilize modern technologies such as automation and AI to improve payroll operations.Our ExpectationsStrong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external partners.A hands-on, proactive attitude combined with the ability to see the bigger picture and drive strategic improvements.Solid understanding of payroll-related legislation, collective agreements, and local agreements.Familiarity with IT platforms and system architecture relevant to payroll and HR data management.Experience with payroll system interfaces and a clear understanding of their functionalities and dependencies.Proven record of leading independently different size of payroll and time system implementation and development projects.Ability to lead and manage change, with an agile and development-oriented mindset.Independent and structured working style, with a focus on accountability and ownership.Deep understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and data flows.Openness to utilizing modern technologies, including AI and automation, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken.Experience with systems such as Workday, SAP, and CMS is considered an asset.Working at Finnair: We offer you an exciting opportunity to work in the fast-changing aviation and international travel industry in a culture that drives and enables professional development and continuous improvement.
