About The Role: We are seeking a dedicated and sharp AML Analyst to joinour growing Canada team. In this critical role, you'll be at the forefront of our efforts toprevent and detect financial crime, ensuring our operations remain compliant withCanadian regulations and contribute to a secure financial ecosystem. What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Assisting the Compliance Officer in adapting our policies and procedures to align with the new Retail Payments Activities Act (RPAA), which becomes enforceable onSeptember 8th. Your work will directly support our organization's response to the Bank of Canada's new supervisory role over retail payment services.

Conducting in-depth analysis of transactions and client data to identify suspicious activity and potential financial crime, escalating complex cases and providing detailed investigative findings to the Compliance Officer. Drafting accurate and complete regulatory reports, including Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs), for review and submission by the Compliance Officer to FINTRAC. Performing enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk clients and entities,meticulously documenting your findings to support the Compliance Officer's risk assessments. Supporting the Compliance Officer and the team with analysis of emerging trends in money laundering, terrorist financing, and regulatory changes, particularly those related to the new RPAA.

Maintaining and updating case management systems with precise information,ensuring a clear and auditable record of all investigations. Collaborating with internal business units and other teams to provide guidance andsupport on AML best practices, as directed by the Compliance Officer. Assisting the Compliance Officer with the preparation for regulatory examinations and internal audits by compiling data and documentation. Analyzing and updating existing compliance policies and related documentation. Review system generated alerts, assess impact to AML processes, conduct research as required, and document results in written format within SLAs.

Any other AD HOC requirements that support the Compliance and Risk functions. Key performance indicators (KPIs): Quality and Accuracy of Analysis: Demonstrated thoroughness and precision inconducting investigations, with a focus on the accuracy of your findings and the clarity of your case documentation. Timeliness and Efficiency: Adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs) for case completion and alert clearing, ensuring a timely and effective response to potential risks. Regulatory Support: The quality and completeness of documentation and draft reports (e. g.

, STRs, RPAA-related data) provided to the Compliance Officer for review and submission to FINTRAC and the Bank of Canada. Risk Identification: The ability to proactively identify new or emerging typologies, process improvements, or potential risks related to both traditional AML/ATF and the new Retail Payments Activities Act (RPAA) and escalate these insights to the Compliance Officer. Collaboration: Positive feedback from the Compliance Officer and other internal teams on your ability to provide effective support, analysis, and communication. What You'll Need To Be Successful In This Role:  Essential qualifications:

A minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in an AML/ATF role within the financial services industry. In-depth working knowledge of Canadian AML regulations, including PCMLTFA andFINTRAC reporting requirements. Demonstrable experience with case management systems and transaction monitoring tools. Exceptional analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail and a strong ability to organize complex information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports andcollaborating with team members.  Desirable qualifications: A Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or a similar professional designation. Experience with data analytics tools (e. g.

, SQL, Excel) to support investigations. Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience in compliance, legal or other control related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof. Strong understanding of the Retail Payments Activities Act (RPAA) and the Bank ofCanada's supervisory role.  High integrity and a strong ethical compass the foundation of all compliancework.
