JOB TITLE: Head of Card/Head of PaymentsTERM: 12 MonthsCLIENT LOCATION: Nairobi KenyaRELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Card business, Card payments, Card operationsMANDATORY REQUIREMENTS**: 10 - 15 yrs experience in credit card and card payment business. PURPOSE OF JOBSeeking to build a card business portfolio. TASKSCore Responsibilities And AccountabilitiesProduct development and strategyCreate excellent customer experienceAchieve product financial performanceCompliance and risk managementCross functional collaborationStakeholder managementInnovation and technologyReporting and AnalyticsJob ResponsibilitiesFinancial PerformanceP&L accountability, monitor revenues, costs and profits on monthly and quarterly basisInitiate and run sales and marketing activities in collaboration with channel, marketing and IT teams e. g.

Customer acquisition activitiesCampaigns and promotionsTactical initiatives that would increase revenues of the bank and reduce costsMonitor card portfolio health e. g.

card transaction approval rates, growth in spend, credit limit utilisation, pricing, etc and take necessary action to remediate negative trendsMonitor scheme costs and compliance issues and ensure efficient cost managementWork to establish systems and processes to ensure efficient running of the card business from a fraud, operations and sales perspective (this will require working with various functional teams in the organisation)Identify acquisition opportunities focusing on cross-sell for the short-termDesign the ideal campaigns based on an understanding of the client capabilities and prioritiesBuild business cases to facilitate internal buy-in and approvalsCoordinate campaign execution and troubleshoot any issues that may come-upWork with bank and Mastercard teams to define new products and optimal CVP Help build product business case and help obtain internal and external approvals for launchProgram manage new product launch by coordinating across all stakeholdersReport on progress and troubleshoot / escalate issuesImplement relevant projects with Mastercard related to Tokenization, virtual cards etcWorking with marketing, communication, IT and operations teams to monitor customer experience issues related to:

DeclinesFraudChargebacksTechnical issues with card productsQualifications/ expectations required: Proven experience in card products business development in retail bankingStrong analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage end-to-end card product launch or revamp projects independently. Knowledge of market trends, opportunities, and product launches in the payments marketExperience in communicating and interacting with senior stakeholders for periodic updates. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experienceAbility to work with various functional departments across the banks to get things done.

Mandatory Skills**Prior experience in credit card product management, financial services or credit card operations. Experience managing the entire credit card product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and post launch optimizationFamiliarity with Agile frameworks for iterative product development and deliveryAbility to mange multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives. Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns to promote credit card products. Ability to provide sales team with tools, training and resources needed to sell the product effectively.
