Designer (Childrenswear)Reporting to: Design ManagerJob Type: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours, 5 days per week)Key Contacts: Design & Sales Team, External StakeholdersWe have a unique opportunity for a Designer to join our Team. We are looking for someone who is trend aware with a strong understanding and passion for high street fashion, ideally from a supplier background. The individual will be managing Childrenswear (main range and nightwear) & Ladies Nightwear with an emphasis on graphics and prints. Main Responsibilities: Using fabric sources to create, design and develop collections for various commercial retailers, understanding the needs and style of each customer.
Present collections to a range of stakeholders, taking on board feedback and adapting ranges where necessary. Collaborate with the sales team to manage your accounts, presenting a unified approach to customers. Liaise with buyers, merchandisers, and production teams to ensure collections meet cost and margin requirements. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform design direction; using insights to develop mood boards and concept ideas. Maintain the critical path and ensure timely delivery of samples and production-ready designs. The role will require semi regular travel to meet clients. Person Specification:
Relevant experience in a similar designing role (ideally specialising in Childrenswear or Womenswear)Good interpersonal and communication skills, confident presenter. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Passionate, enthusiastic, shows initiative. Commercial awareness – interpreting and translating trends to meet the customer profile.
