We measure ourselves by reductions in preterm births, NICU admissions, c-sections and maternal mortality; we improve outcomes and reduce healthcare spend.Role OverviewThe People Operations Associate will provide essential support to our organization as it scales, ensuring every step in an employee’s journey with Pomelo is seamless. Working out of our NYC headquarters and reporting into the VP, People, this role will be the key point of contact on the People team for employees’ day-to-day needs. In partnership with other members of the People team, the People Operations Associate will be responsible for supporting the employee life cycle end-to-end, maintaining a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality in all work.What You’ll DoOwn the new hire onboarding process including: sending offer letters, initiating background checks, leading Day 1 orientation, and collecting I-9 documentation, as well as being available to new team members for questions or general supportOversee all incoming communications to the HR team, including physical mail, email and Slack; triage requests, escalating those that need additional support and addressing transactional requests in a timely manner, including employment verifications, benefits & policy questions, etc.Manage and process referral bonus and other miscellaneous employee payments, ensuring accuracy and timelinessMaintain employee data integrity between our HRIS (Justworks) and our systems, ensuring all new hires are provisioned correctly and changes for employees are represented in a timely mannerProvide in-person support for employees and candidates at our NYC headquarters; manage daily lunch orders, greet guests and ensure a welcoming environmentIn partnership with our People Operations Manager, coordinate other employee life cycle tasks related to promotions, leaves of absence, offboarding, etc. Contribute to other People Team projects and initiatives as neededWhat You Bring2+ years of experience in an administrative, coordination, or operations role, ideally within the HR, People Operations, or Talent Acquisition spaceExceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail—you love a good checklistA strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentHigh emotional intelligence, empathy, and the proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionA "no task is too small" attitude and a deep passion for creating a positive employee experienceExperience with an ATS (like Greenhouse) and/or an HRIS (like Justworks) is a bonusWhy you should join our teamBy joining Pomelo, you will get in on the ground floor of a fast-moving, well-funded, and mission-driven startup where you will have a profound impact on the patients we serve. In accordance with New York City, Colorado, California, and other applicable laws, Pomelo Care is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, geography, and balancing internal equity. Given that this role is open to candidates of different skill levels, determining a salary range is challenging. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $70,000 to $85,000.
