The successful candidate will lead environmental permitting and compliance projects, mentor staff, and manage client relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesLead state and federal environmental permitting for a variety of land development, energy, transportation, and municipal projects.Prepare and manage Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MDEP), Maine Land Use Planning Commission (LUPC), Natural Resources Protection Act (NRPA), New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, (NHDES) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) permit applications, including environmental assessments and supporting documentation.Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project approvals.Provide senior level project and technical staff support.Oversee and review wetland delineations, vernal pool surveys, wildlife and habitat assessments, and natural resource mapping.Interpret and apply environmental regulations, providing clear guidance to clients.Prepare and review technical reports, permit applications, and supporting analyses.Mentor junior staff and contribute to proposal writing and business development.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resources, Biology, or related field.10+ years of professional experience in natural resources consulting, with emphasis on environmental permitting.Demonstrated experience with MDEP, LUPC, and ACOE permitting processes.Strong understanding of wetlands, wildlife habitat, soils, and regulatory frameworks.Excellent technical writing and communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GPS, and GIS or AutoCAD preferred.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.Location: Bangor, Maine; Saco, Maine; or Portsmouth, New Hampshire (reliably commute or relocation required)A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted.Haley Ward is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
