Position Group: Non-Union, Senior Management GroupCompetition #: NUG-25-18What you'll do: The General Manager of Information Technology (IT) leads a multi-disciplinary team to effectively implement, administer, operate and support secure, reliable, and efficient technology solutions based on business requirements.

The General Manager of IT guides the technology support activities for the organization and is responsible for network infrastructure, server and end user hardware, business applications, geographic information systems and cyber security. This position provides leadership in the efficient, effective, and collaborative use of corporate systems, applications, devices and data. This position partners to offer corporate-wide strategic technical advice and project support to ensure information technology service delivery excellence, project planning, and streamlining. Division Oversight: Provides direction, supervision, and mentorship to multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that performance metrics for the division align with business outcomes.

Collaborates in the planning and decision-making aimed at enhancing the delivery of information, technology, and transformation services. Business Applications: Oversees the strategic management and continuous improvement of enterprise and departmental technology solutions. Continuously evaluates emerging technologies and trends in order to recommend and champion the adoption of new technology and strategies. Risk Mitigation: Oversees the development, implementation, and operation of comprehensive cybersecurity. Champion cyber risk awareness, and develop effective IT policies, practices, and robust governance frameworks, in alignment with industry and governmental mandates.

You have a minimum of 5 years experience in a management role, preferably in a Municipal environment. You have experience supervising in a unionized environment and take pride in fostering collaboration, customer service delivery and continual improvementCertification: It would be considered an asset if you had relevant professional certifications, such as: ITIL, CISSP, CISM, PMP, CMP, and/or Lean Black BeltCommunication: You are a strong communicator and understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships. You are comfortable talking to people of all levels in an organization, and are comfortable shifting your delivery style to accommodate different groups.

You have a demonstrated ability to think on your feet and make urgent decisions, as well as know when a situation requires a step back and further thought before moving forward.
