The project is part of a research project which is financed by The Novo Nordisk Foundation.Start date is expected to be 15 March 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.The projectThe PhD student will work on building advanced statistical modelling and probabilistic deep learning approaches for deciphering post-transcriptional gene regulation.Who are we looking for?We are looking for candidates to work within the field(s) intersecting statistics, bioinformatics and post-transcriptional gene regulation. Applicants can have a background from (bio-)statistics, with emphasis on advanced statistical modelling and preferably working with large scale data within biology or health sciences.Strong understanding of statistical modellingStrong interest in training skills in deep learningExperience in bioinformatics including genomic sequence analysisBasic understanding of post-transcriptional gene regulationStrong skills in R and/or Python, including packages used for advanced modellingOur group and research- and what do we offer?The Rennie group is a part of Section for Computational and RNA Biology, Department of Biology, Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen. For information of eligibility of completed programmes, see General assessments for specific countries and Assessment database.Terms of employment in the regular programme Employment as PhD fellow is full time and for maximum 3 years.Employment is conditional upon your successful enrolment as a PhD student at the PhD School at the Faculty of SCIENCE, University of Copenhagen. This requires submission and acceptance of an application for the specific project formulated by the applicant.Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
