We are recruiting a PhD candidate to join the SHINE Project, directed by Julien Chanal at the University of Geneva 🇨🇭.🌱 Le projet / The projectSHINE vise à comprendre comment la motivation des élèves se différencie entre les disciplines scolaires au fil de leur parcours. SHINE investigates how students’ motivation differentiates across school subjects during primary school years.Le projet combine une étude longitudinale dans les écoles du canton et des modélisations statistiques avancées pour suivre l’évolution du profil motivationnel des élèves. The project combines a longitudinal field study in local schools with advanced statistical modeling to capture the development of motivational differentiation.🧭 Rôle du/de la doctorant·e / PhD roleRéaliser sa thèse dans le cadre du projet SHINECoordonner la collecte de données dans les écoles primairesEncadrer une petite équipe de recherche (assistants étudiants)Contribuer aux analyses statistiques et à la publication d’articles scientifiquesParticipate in data collection, data analysis, and scientific writing under the supervision of Julien Chanal and a postdoctoral researcher.🎯 Profil recherché / Candidate profileMaster en psychologie, sciences de l’éducation ou sciences du sport (ou équivalent)Solides connaissances des théories contemporaines de la motivation (p. ex. théorie de l’autodétermination)Compétences en analyse de données (R, Mplus, SPSS, etc.)Français courant (terrain) et anglais scientifique (rédaction et communication)Master’s degree in psychology, education, or sport sciences (or equivalent)Strong knowledge of motivation theories (e.g., Self-Determination Theory)Skills in statistical tools and modelingFluency in French (for fieldwork) and scientific English📅 Conditions🗓 Entrée en fonction / Start date : dès janvier 2026 (flexible) 📍 Lieu / Location : Université de Genève + écoles primaires du canton ⏱ Durée / Duration : 4 ans (FNS-funded)📨 Candidature / ApplicationEnvoyer avant le 30 novembre 2025 (23h59, heure de Genève) : 📧 julien.chanal@unige.ch
