University: Technical University of MunichCountry: GermanyDeadline: Rolling until filledFields: Transportation Science, Computer Science, Economics, Management & Technology, Urban PlanningThe Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for a PhD position within the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) “AgiMo – Data-driven agile planning for responsible mobility. ” This DFG-funded project involves a consortium including TUM, TU Dresden, TU Berlin, TU Braunschweig, and DLR, and aims to advance innovative methods in mobility planning, develop metrics for responsible mobility, implement digital twin technologies, and foster participatory approaches toward sustainable transport solutions. PhD Topic – Subproject A2The successful candidate will:

Develop novel Stated Preference (SP) survey methodologies to assess the impact of extreme transportation policies such as high carbon pricing and road closures. Identify behavioral tipping points and elasticities in transportation mode choice and activity participation. Evaluate how communication strategies, environmental awareness, and behavioral nudges can encourage sustainable travel behaviors. Conduct empirical validation of SP findings to inform responsible mobility planning. Requirements An excellent Master’s degree in transportation, computer science, economics, management & technology, or a related discipline. Strong background in transportation science and/or data analytics.

Demonstrated interdisciplinary interest, collaborative spirit, and commitment to completing the PhD within 3 years and 9 months. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
