University: Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of AthensCountry: GreeceDeadline: 2025-10-01Fields: Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy, Engineering, Computer ScienceTwo postdoctoral research positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Zoe Cournia at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens. The positions focus on the study of allosteric regulation of proteins, identification of cryptic binding pockets, and computer-aided drug design. Research activities will involve the analysis of protein structure and dynamics (mutated and wild-type), both in aqueous solution and in association with model membranes, utilizing unbiased and enhanced sampling Molecular Dynamics simulations.

The successful candidates will also engage in binding affinity free energy calculations and the design of compounds targeting identified allosteric pockets. These projects are closely linked to applied research and involve collaboration with a major pharmaceutical company. Requirements– PhD and diploma in Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline– Demonstrated experience in computational chemistry and molecular simulation techniques– Some programming or scripting proficiency– Excellent written and spoken English skillsThe positions are offered for one year, with the possibility of renewal. Start dates are flexible, with appointments possible immediately and no later than October 2025.
