Role Overview: Based in Melbourne, the Country Manager will be responsible for launching and leading the company’s operations in Australia.

This is a key leadership role that requires a deep understanding of the engineering consulting landscape—particularly in Energy, Hydropower, and Dams—as well as hands-on experience in business development, operations, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong entrepreneurial drive and a proven track record of building business units or start-up operations from the ground up. Key Responsibilities: Market Entry & Business DevelopmentLead the company’s entry into the Australian market and define the go-to-market strategy. Identify and pursue growth opportunities with clients, partners, and government entities.

Build a strong client base and long-term partnerships to drive sustainable growth. Operations & Team LeadershipRecruit, build, and manage a high-performing local team across technical, commercial, and operational functions. Drive operational efficiency and align local operations with global quality and delivery standards. Establish the necessary infrastructure, systems, and culture to support business scale-up. Financial, Legal & Risk OversightEnsure full compliance with Australian regulatory, legal, and industry standards. Manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L responsibilities with a focus on profitability and risk mitigation. Lay the foundation for a resilient and sustainable business operation.

Strategic & Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with global leadership to align regional strategies with broader corporate goals. Represent the company with clients, strategic partners, government stakeholders, and industry bodies. Act as the local face of the organization to build credibility and brand recognition. Required Qualifications & Experience: A degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering consulting, with direct exposure to the Australian market. Proven ability to launch, grow, and lead a business unit or regional office. Deep knowledge of the Australian energy and infrastructure landscape. Demonstrated success in P&L management, strategic planning, and team leadership.

Strong commercial acumen and a client-focused mindset. Exceptional relationship-building skills, including experience engaging with senior-level stakeholders.
