The following job description outlines characteristics that ISHCMC believes teachers should exhibit and are important if they are to help students achieve as active learners.The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Physical & Health Education (MYP and DP Sports, Exercise, & Health Science) to join our fantastic team.This is a full-time position responsible for delivering a high-quality, engaging curriculum across our secondary school, encompassing both Physical & Health Education (PHE) in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and teaching the IB Diploma Sports, Exercise, and Health Science (SEHS) course. The school is seeking an exceptional, experienced teacher to inspire students in the MYP and experience in teaching the latest SEHS course is highly recommended.The teacher will be required to plan, teach, and assess the inquiry-based MYP PHE curriculum for students aged 11-16, fostering physical literacy, healthy lifestyles, and interpersonal skills. The teacher will implement a range of authentic assessment tasks, collaborating closely with other members of the PHE team, including the standardization of student work.The teacher will lead the DP SEHS course at both Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL). This includes teaching theoretical concepts in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and psychology, as well as guiding internal assessments and preparing students for final examinations. Additionally, a strong background in laboratory practice and experimentation would be an asset. The ability to teach and monitor Internal Assessment design for validity, reliability, and ethics, and up-to-date knowledge of health and safety protocols in science labs, would be an advantage.The right candidate would be willing to contribute to the school's vibrant co-curricular program by coaching or leading other after-school activities and serving as a dedicated advisor to a group of
