SUMMARY OF POSITION: Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center has an exciting full-time (40 hours a week/ 1.0 FTE) opportunity for a Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Radiology team due to the expansion of our program. The team is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to assist with routine radiology procedures. Qualified candidates will be expected to perform standard fluoroscopic procedures such as barium swallows, upper GI exams, barium enemas, small bowel follow-throughs, tube/leak checks, line patency checks, and other minor procedures. We also do the following procedures: joint arthrography for both conventional and MRI/CT arthrograms; fluoroscopically guided lumbar punctures; thoracentesis; paracentesis; and ultrasound-guided thyroid and lymph node biopsies. The Physician Assistant will assist the Interventional Radiologist who is on call with more complex procedures. Working with and scheduling patients through the Cerner EMR is required. The PA-C will also serve as the main contact point in the hospital for IR-related questions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment Basic Life Support (BLS) certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):Relevant experience preferred.
