Prevention and treatment of an impairment, disability or handicap is accomplished through the use of physical assessment, education and treatment which are based on ongoing clinical research. The goal of physiotherapy intervention is to promote quality of life, self-responsibility and independence.Physiotherapists at SJHH play a major role in patient’s length of stay. As one of the few professionals who usually remains constant during a patient’s stay, PT’s promote early discharge planning, optimize patient mobility and function and ensure patients are safe to return home.
