Job DescriptionThe Picture Framer will work with the highest quality picture framing equipment in a high volume production environment to cut and join frames, cut mats and glass, stretch canvases, including over-sized and assemble framed artwork. The Picture Framer will work in tandem with production team members and sales staff to create frames that meet the highest standards and uphold the reputation of the Colorchrome brand.Primary duties/responsibilities:Assemble and fit frames for a variety of mediums to include original & printed artwork on paper, canvas, wood, metal & fabricChop and join moulding using a double mitre-saw and under-pinnerMount artwork using conservation hinging techniques, shadowboxing techniques, sewing and drymounting up to 48”x96”Stretch and frame canvas art up to 20 feet longCut mats and glass using Valiani mat cutter and Fletcher wall cutterInspect frames and finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standardsWork with Production and Sales team members to ensure structural integrity and strength of each frame designMaintain clean work areaRead, interpret and follow instructions in framing work tickets and spec sheetsDesired Skills & BackgroundMinimum 2 years’ experience as a Picture Framer requiredCommercial Production Framer strongly preferredExperience with Specialty Soft software preferredMust understand construction of stretcher bars, risers, float frames & standard frames for paper, canvas & mirrorsReliable, productive, and able to work continuously in a shop environmentComfortable with and capable of using small and medium power and hand tools such as table saws, drills, screw guns, miter saws, chop saws, routers, hand held saws, utility knives, mallets, etc. Strong problem solving skills and strategic thinking ability requiredCan read and recognize product variationsCan read a tape measure and calculate fractionsAble to work in a fast-paces environment and follow through on tasks without remindersAble to work efficiently and manage time effectivelyAble to lift and carry up to 50lbs and be standing and active all dayMust be an individual who values learning and continuous improvement, who wants to make positive contributions to a common effortHigh attention to detail requiredHigh school or GED requiredThis job is an in-office role in Norcross, GA.
